Capacity Building

  • Needs assessment workshops would be organized by the National Academy of Self-Employed Women's Association to understand the capacity-building needs of local people and civil society organizations in each country.
  • Based on the above, special, tailor-made capacity-building programmes would be developed jointly with African colleagues. These would include exposure visits to learn from each other. Visits would also be made to SEWA to understand how women organize, undertake collective action and build their own membership-based organizations.
  • A special course would be developed on organizing and building workers' solidarity, and on Gandhian values and approach to holistic development.
  • By the end of the project period, the organizations would have developed their own capacity-building plans and the National Academy of Self-Employed Women's Association will facilitate linkages, where required, for further training and exposure.
