Health and Child Care

  • As with activities mentioned above, the health and child care needs in the countries we propose to work in will be included in the overall needs assessment study. The study will also examine what services are available and where the gaps are.
  • Workshops and exchange visits will be organized on health and child care at Lok Swasthya SEWA and other Indian organizations, to share how universal health and child care is being achieved ( and to what extent; lessons learned etc) through both governmental ( like the National Rural Health Mission and the Integrated Child Development Scheme) and non-governmental efforts.
  • Capacity-building will be undertaken through structured training sessions on health and child care and also exposure visits.
  • At the end of the project period, African organizations would have developed their plans for health and child care in their areas.
